My Camo Hat!

Well...I finished my camo toddler hat!

Not sure if I like it!

Basic Hat.

1st topper I made. A big flub! It's too big! Ack!

The one on the right is the smaller one I just made. There's not too
much difference in size. I also didn't stuff it as tightly.
Well...that is the smaller topper. Not sure if I like it.

Still not sure!

I'm not a big fan of it! I was trying something different instead
of a pom-pom. Fun fur crocheted with it might make it look better.
I will give it a try another day.

I really, really, really don't like it!

I'm starting another hat tomorrow.

Sunday Hats

Mom wasn't feeling good today so I didn't accomplish everything I wanted.

My camo hat is cute. Without the ball on top! Lol! I think it is too big for the hat! I'm going to make a smaller one tomorrow. Check out this bad picture!

Pretty bad looking! I will try again tomorrow!

I made a purple hat today for the cna whose daughter just had a baby girl! She loves purple!

It didn't take long to make! Maybe an hour and a half.

A Long Saturday!

Wow! What a very long day!

I started my lavender hats. I created a toddler sized hat pattern today. I made the hat but I still need to make the top piece of the hat. I'm trying an experiment, instead of making a pom-pom I'm trying to create a very small ball and stuff with that fiber fill. I hope it looks good! I'm going to try finishing it tomorrow. Here's the pic.

I hope the ball looks good tomorrow!

Need another lavender baby hat for a newborn with a big head.

I think that's everything.

Tube Sock Hat

I finished my green hat. Its called "The Tube Sock Hat". It got its name because the first one I made reminded us of a tube sock. Here's the pictures.

It was made with a size H hook. It looks very wide!

Back View. You can make this hat as long as you want or need it to be!

Busy Day!

I am so glad I took my pink beret to work on today! I asked the activities director when she started her vacation, she said today at 4! I went to activity room and started working furiously trying to finish the last 6 rows! She kept walking in the room! She was supposed to be taking residents to the dining room for church service! One of my friends in a wheelchair was watching for her to come back! I managed to complete it by 10:30! That was close! It turned out so cute! I had to take pics of it with my phone!
I sat it in the window and tried to get a pic!

I tried to put the beret on an angel but it didn't work very good!

The back of the activities director's head. She loved it! It looks so good on her! I'm so happy she loved it! She is such a great person and helps me when I need it!

Today I didn't have time to work on my squares. Every time I thought about them I would get frustrated! I will save them for a couple days later to work on!

I did work on a new hat pattern for my hat pattern blog. I almost finished it. I should be finished with it tomorrow. Here's a pic.

Disastrous Mess!

What a traumatic day! I made a mess of my small squares! (pulling my hair out!)
Here are my 4 squares. They look good here! See that big hole in the center? I want it to go away!

I didn't know what color I should join the squares with. I had yellow on my desk so I used it. The yellow blends in with the yellow square.

Yikes! The yellow yarn shows!I squished the pink and blue together so you couldn't see the yellow in the middle! Its going to show when you move the squares.

They need to be joined again in the middle.

Well its pathetic to look at. The yellow yarn is showing everywhere! I'm going to have to try another way to join them so the yarn used doesn't show! They look just awful. I even mixed up the position of colors! The dark blue is supposed to be on the right! The yellow is supposed to be on the left. The other 2 squares are mixed up too!

I started a beret today. Its in a shade of pink. The activities director has a birthday on the 28th. Shes going on vacation so I will need to give this too her early!

I should be able to finish it in the morning. She loves pink and purple so I'm making a purple one too!

Small Squares

Didn't get much done today at nursing home. Check out these squares.

I need to make another one so I have four.

It looks like when I join them there may be a space in the center after I join them. I don't want any spaces showing. I will try to work on that tomorrow.

Small Square!

I think I found one! It's small! It may take a million of them to make an afghan!

Its 1 and 1/2 inches!

I'm going to make some more tomorrow!

Caring and Slouchy Hat

Mom was bad off today. She slept all day.

I made my caring hat last night. I delivered it at noon today! It was her favorite color! It fit just right! Here's a picture.

Wish I had more of this yarn! Its discontinued.

I finished my slouchy hat.

A friend made it but double stranded it. I think I will do it on my next hat.

Don't know what I am going to make tomorrow! I better figure it out tonight! Mom might be in bed tomorrow too.

Friday!

Didn't work on any small squares today. I stumbled on a free hat pattern. Its a very slouchy hat! I almost finished it at the nursing home. I still have a few sc rows to do. I can finish it in the morning.

Here's the link for the pattern.

Tonight I need to make a caring hat (chemo hat). I don't like the word chemo. We had a new person come in today she is bald. I need a hat to take to her in the morning!

Do you belong to Ravelry? I love the site! I am addicted! I went through my favorites and found the person who had the afghan made with small squares! Here is the link. Please go look at it! So awesome! She has more afghans made with small squares! This one is so beautiful! I sent her a message asking if she would share the square pattern! She answered and said she would write it up this weekend!

A Fast Day!

I didn't get any samples made today. Mom was too busy. I have decided I'm going to try 2 afghans with very, very, small squares! I saw several done on Ravelry and I love how they look!
I can't wait to show you how small they are! I will try tonight to make some!

Happy Valentine's Day!

My little red baskets were a huge hit! They loved them more  then I expected! I am so glad I was able to thank them properly for helping mom and me! Here's mom in her new heart sweater! She loves hearts! She used to hang them all over the house!

Mom

I never crocheted today but I did find several patterns to make an afghan with. I'm going to try them tomorrow!

A Long Sunday

Today was a very long day. I think I was tired after going back to mom after shower was over. I brought some of my Valentine's baskets to give those I wouldn't see tomorrow. I was so excited to see the look of joy and excitement to get a gift! They really loved the little red baskets! I put a heart shaped card in there with a piece of heart shaped chocolate!

I made 68 baskets!

Here are some with the folded card and a heart shaped chocolate. Just the perfect size!

My youngest son is a creative writing and french major.
He wrote my card for me and created the hearts!

The card says:
For all the special care you
give my mother, I want you
to know you are
appreciated!
Happy Valentine's Day
Mrs. Gillespie
and
Sharon

Tomorrow I am going to search for scrap afghan patterns. Time to start one!!!

Another off the wall day! I made no plans and have not crocheted a lick at all!.
Really sorry I have nothing to write!

Busy Mom!

I got nothing done today. No plans made. No nothing at all.

Mom was very active today. I managed to get almost half of my square of the day done.

Stay Tuned for Tomorrow!

Purple Beret!

Not much time to focus on crochet! Busy with mom walking! I did finish my purple beret. It looks good! Now I have to finish the other one!

I have not weaved in my ends yet!

I didn't get much else done except my square of the day!

Monday Crochet

Mom was weak today so I had some time to crochet! I worked on a beret in purple. I have about 7 rows to go and it will be done. I worked on my square of the day. I'm starting another beret in some shade of purple. This one has front post dc stitches around it! Looks great. Its the Activities Director's birthday February 28th so I need to get that done! The two berets are for her. I need to weave in my ends on the red baskets and get them ready to fill. I only have about six days left till Valentine's Day. I'm still trying to decide what my next big project will be. I think its going to be an afghan made of my scraps but don't know what type it will be! So much thinking is dangerous!

Sunday Sickness

Mom very sick today. I held her up while she slept to help with the wheezing. I thought of lots of crochet projects while sitting on that bed. Maybe I can make plans tomorrow. Need new projects!

A Long Saturday!

It was a very long day, I coughed all night and it made me so tired today. Ugh!
Crochet wise, I worked on a new hat design for about an hour. I made my square of the day and I worked on my Valentine Baskets most of the day! I have just counted them! I have 62 baskets! Check out these pics!

There is only 1 end to weave in! It should be quick to do that!

Maybe I can do another 40 tomorrow!
I still would like to put a white bow on it!
Call me crazy!

I don't have a pic of my hat yet!

Sick

Nothing like getting sick again. I feel horrible.
I worked on a new hat today. I worked on my little red baskets and that's it!
Mom kept me busy most of the day. Feeling better but not completely well.

Tired!

Very tired from yesterday. I completed my hat, its very bright.

Its a child size. Saving it for when I may need a hat for someone!

I worked on my red baskets too!
Very tired!
Good Night!

12 Hours At Nursing Home!

I spent 12 hours at nursing home today. She's getting sick. Ugh.

Last night I made a hat for a 6 month old boy! It turned out cute. Now I only have the baby shower blanket to complete! All day if someone approached me about making something for them I have to "just say NO" whoops! Politely of course!

It looks much better in person! The colors are very
vibrant!

I need to make an adult hat! It would look great!
For someone!

Today while working on my baskets I made a mistake on 2 of them. I accidentally left the last row off! Well it was faster to make and it would work great for the cna's, kitchen staff, maintenance, and housekeeping!
Check this out!

Not too much difference!

I started a child sized hat today. I have no hats stockpiled. So I need to start creating lots of hats for next winter!

It looks huge in the pic but its not! I have 7 more rows to go! It will not take long to finish it!

It's Feburary 1st!!!

The 1st of February! Holy Cow! I'm not going to say January went by fast because everyone is saying it! I worked on a basket pattern today! It calls for a H hook and it made a teeny tiny basket! I tried another one with an I hook and it made it a little bit bigger! I think I can knock out a lot of these. There's only one end to weave in!

Including the handle its about 2 3/4 inches tall. I can
get about 2 small pieces of homemade fudge in
there and a tiny Happy Valentines Day Card.
I can't think of anything else tiny to put
in there!

They take about 5 to 10 minutes to make one. I was slow crocheting today!
I'm going to put a bow on if I have time!
Still tired.

I gave the 3 pink baby hats to the person today! Wow! She really loved them! She seemed to like the beret the best! I almost didn't make it! I'm glad I did now!

I've got to make another baby hat for a 6 month boy with ear flaps and pop poms.
